Spring Cleaning Fun at Tappan Park

If you ever wondered what the younger Brothers in the Lodge do for fun, you might be surprised. During several weekends in the months of April and May the Brothers went to our beautiful German Masonic Park in Tappan to have some real fun.

We remembered some "brown spots" from last year at our Lodge Booth, and felt it was needed to do some basic beautification. The outside front and right side walla were stripped of nearly all paint (mostly loose stuff) and repainted by our own Experts in the most exotic color - White.

We did not stop there. Under supervision of LARS, the Ladies repainted the woodwork around the doors, windows and roof in a sparkling, shiny dark brown. It looks really pretty now.

But what would a little Fun in Tappan be without making a Mess? Brothers Jeff and Walter brought the expertise to fullfill such desires. The Closet to the left of the Pantry was ripped out due to excessive water damage from times past or recent new damage or both. Either way, it had to go, along with some sheetrock along the wall and ceiling to judge the extent to any possible damage. Needless to say, we are not roofing experts, so Brother Derek squeezed some Silicon under the Roof Shingles and we hope for the best... the jury is still out on that one some 6 weeks later.

And that is pretty much as far as we made it so far. Anyone want to see if we fixed the Water Problem? We take your advice, til then, we'll have an open spot in the wall by the kitchen...
