Usually I don't want to open a Event Report with a recount of the Weather... This day was just gorgeous!
Not surprisingly, everyone was in a very good mood.
Our Annual Kale Dinner is always a special treat for those who enjoy a hearty German Meal. The Menu might appear simple at first, but you can trust me, no one went home hungry. There was of course Kale (chopped and sauteed), Boiled Potatoes, Pinkelwurst, Smoked Tenderloins and Speck (extra thick smocked Bacon - extra delicious). Dinner was served Family Style with plenty of refills available. It was so good, one Italian Fellow at my Table said: "I didn't know Germans can cook "THIS" good. That must be a long lost Italian recipe...". Needless to say, we expect to see him back next year.
Entertainment for the Evening was provided by Gus Sengenberger. After the long Holiday season, it was good to see so many couples trying to work off the extra pounds on the Dance Floor. And for the extra daring amongst our guests there was a new Line Dancing Song from Germany. I am sure we will see this one more often in the District this year, so I wont give anything away - but, it looked like real fun.
Our Kale Dinner being a Fellowship Dinner, we cut official speeches to a minimum. Our Master of Ceremonies Walter Lenk (Senior Warden) did an excellent job guiding us though the evening. The Invocation was done by our newest Lodge Brother, RW Larry Wund, DDGM. RW James Woerner, Grand Director of Ceremonies was giving a short speech as well as our Master John Boyen.
Everyone was having a mighty good time. The tradition continues...
Two side notes:
1. Please see the District Calendar for upcoming Events. All Lodges put a lot of effort into their events and we should support them whenever we can.
2. If you can't see the Slideshow on top... you might need the newest Flash player, Version 8.
