Combined Dinner Dance 2009

Most Lodges in our District, as well as all over the State have their own Dinner Dances. So it was very interesting for me to see two of the largest Lodges in the 9th Manhattan District have a Combined Dinner Dance. To top it off, they have been doing this already for several years.

The Crystal Room at Verdi's of Westbury was just about big enough to accommodate all the Brothers and their Ladies, as well a visiting Family, Friends and Dignitaries.

I dont think I have seen so many Guests dance since the Charity Ball in May. Either everyone was in a specially cozy mood or John Geida just knew perfectly which Tunes to play for the crowd.

Wardens John Farina and Gerry Messina did an excellent job coordinating the details of the event. This is no small feat with two Lodges involved.

Everyone seemed to have a good time and enjoyed the campanionship of so many friends. This can also be attributed to the Ladies of the Lodges, who seem to generate a movement all on their own - the Ladies Toast being the crowning of every Event.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. There is a lot of Hope and a generally positive attitude all over. Many signs point in the right direction and there is always Light at the End of the Tunnel. We just need to search for it.
