September 13th, 2009

My Brothers,

We have just completed the Brotherhood Fund Drive 2008/2009. Grand Lodge Numbers indicate it was a bad year for Charity. However, the silver lining can be found in the details.

Within the 9th Manhattan District, Allemania Lodge, that is you my Brothers, has had one of its strongest and most successful years. We succeeded in both, a participation of over 50% as well as strong donations to put us in the Top Spot!

Thank you for your great Support!

The Charity’s of the Masonic Brotherhood Fund can not take a break and give us rest. They continuously are in need of our support.

Herby I like to open the Fund Drive Season 2009/2010.

I attached a page copy of the latest ESM magazine about the “child ID” program. It is evolving and getting more interesting for us and the general public. I would like you to get back to me with ideas on how we can host an “ID Program”. Do you know a location or public event that would be good for us to participate in? Children, young adults and seniors alike can benefit from the ID program. Let’s get involved.

Please make your generous donation today!

Fraternally

History

On April 29, 1980 in Phoenix, a young boy’s wish to be a police officer was granted by the Arizona Department of Public Safety and his dream served as the inspiration for the largest wish-granting organization in the world. He was given a custom-made uniform, helmet and badge and spent the day as a police officer.

The Metro New York chapter, which serves the five boroughs of New York City and Nassau County, Long Island, began in 1983 when 13 volunteers joined together to grant the wish of  7-year-old Steven, whose heartfelt wish was to meet Daisy Duke (actress Catherine Bach) of the popular “Dukes of Hazzard” television show.  Ms. Bach’s visit to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center was contagious… a new local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® was born based in Lake Success, Long Island with a field office in Manhattan.
