136th Anniversary Dance 2009

Finally, we get a chance to report on our very own Anniversary Dinner Dance. The event, hosted on the lower level of the Plattdeutsche Park Restaurant was everything we were looking for. The cocktail hour area was conveniently separated from our main banquet room. It seemed that Plattdeutsche had all available waitstaff on our floor to pass around delicious hot and cold hor'douvres. Our Banquet room was elegantly decorated and the Spring Flower center pieces brightened an otherwise rainy weekend evening

Music was provided by Bernie Bunger Orchestra. The four-piece band seemed to catch just right the mood of the crowd of 90 plus brothers, sisters and guests who attended. Alternating between traditional German dance music and fine background tunes, they managed to  accomodate the lively conversations inside  the banquet room. 

We would like to thank all lodges of the Ninth Manhattan District for their support especially the Masters of Trinity, Schiller and Lessing Lodge----something which our Worshipful Master Celestino Carlos underscored in his speech. This and the other highlights of the evening (e.g.  the Ladies Toasts, etc.) will be remembered for a long long time in Allemania Lodge.

As we are having our new slate of officers coming up on May 18, 2009 it is a great way of closing a chapter and turning on a new leaf.
